Airfried Onion Blossom by Michelle Heng

Recipe adapted from 'I Love Philips Airfryer FB'

Ingredients (serves 2)
1 sweet onion (choose one the size of an orange)
30 ml melted butter
1 tsp fine wholegrain mustard
2 tbsp panko bread crumbs
1 tsp paprika powder
1 tbsp mayo
1 tsp green onion (finely chopped)

Steps
1. Peel skin from onion and cut about 1/2-1cm off the top. Leave root end intact to hold the onion together.
2. Place onion on cup (which acts as a 'stopper' when cutting), then carefully section the onion into 16 wedges. Remove the core.
3. Wrap the onion with aluminum foil and airfry at 200 deg C for 15mins. Combine and mix the melted butter and mustard thoroughly, set aside.
4. Once the onion is done, remove from airfryer and fold down the aluminum foil sides to form a rim around the onion. Open up the petals of the onion.
5. Brush the melted butter mixture generously all over the onion before sprinkling liberally with bread crumbs and paprika powder.
6. Return the onion to airfryer and airfry for another 10 mins at 180 deg C.
7. Add mayo (or any of your favourite dressing) to the centre of onion and sprinkle green onion before serving.
8. Bon appetit!
