Nonya Chap Chye by Sally Quek


Ingredients you need:

10 shiitake mushrooms
Some dried lily bulbs( I agar agar )
About 6-8 pcs of black fungus
Dried bean stick( I crush one pc to smaller pcs )
Tung hoon ( glass noodle)
1 head of cabbage ( Wong book ) I used 3/4 of it( left over )
2 tbsp of crushed salted soya bean ( tau chau)
Chopped garlic

Preparation
Soak mushrooms, lily bulbs, black fungus with hot water ( 15 mins )
Cut cabbage in big chunks and rinse clean

Method
Heat about 2 tbsp of oil
Sauté garlic n salted soya bean till fragrance
Add in cabbage and those soaked ingredients.
Add enough water to cover the ingredients and let it boil. ( I stew for about an hour )
Add chicken stock to taste.
Lastly, add dried bean stick n tunghoon, let it simmer for another 1/2 an hr.
