Soya chicken stew by Kymn Lee


Ingredients

1kg chicken wings & drumlets
1 red onion ( chop up small pieces)
3 cloves garlic ( diced)
1 piece gula melaka ( crushed)
1 tsp of hua tiao jiu
Some dash of white pepper
1 dash of five spice powder
2 tsp of sesame oil
1 tbsp of light soya sauce
2 tbsp of dark soya sauce
200ml of water

Method

Heat up wok and add some oil
Put in garlic and onions and stir fried till fragrant
Add in chicken and stir till slightly cooked
Add in sesame oil, hua tiao jiu , pepper & five spice powder, gula melaka, light and dark soya sauce, do a quick stir
Slowly add in water and simmer on low flame for 30 mins till cooked and gravy lessen.
Notes:
~Stir in between cooking to ensure even coating of the gravy on the chicken
~Once the desired colour is reached and chicken cooked, off flame and garnish with celery. Serve warm with rice. Enjoy!
